All by Self is a 40 page illustrated book celebrating the lessons and adventures of the Ron's seven years parenting a child with significant disabilities. Chapter 1 Light On tells father Ron's point of view and the revelations about the meaning of life that come from this unique experience. Chapter 2 Bonsai is a parable in which the mother's trip with Micah and his brother to a hot springs brings more than healing and in mysterious ways, more lessons about life than just Micah's learning to swim. Chapter 3 Lessons Learned highlights Ron's transformative moments in the book and in the documentaries. Micah's unique presence changed Ron in the way he saw himself and the role of nurturing a child like Micah. He annotates these episodes and reveals new insights into the nurturing process.
